How to get out there as a singer?

I LOVE to sing and act. They are my passions! I will be doing acting
in September, but I really want to perform. I have a few questions:

1. Are there any singing competitions or contests in Toronto atm that
a 15 year old could enter?
2. What are some public places where a 15 year old could perform?
3. Do they usually have open mic nights for my age?
